Had a slight nose bleed last year and talked to our favorite Vet..........who
told us horses do NOT get spontaneous nosebleeds like humans do. An equine
nosebleed is either one of two things - a small scrape or cut in the nostril
(which was our problem and is no big deal) or a sign of an internal
respiratory tract injury - which very often CAN BE a major problem. Our
little slice healed up nicely and we had no further problems. You might want
to get a Vet's opinion on your mount's nosebleed to make sure there is
nothing terribly wrong. I certainly don't want to alarm you - or anyone else
- just passing on what we were told by a Vet we love and trust. :o) Any
ridecamp Vets have input?
Scott
