[RC] Wet weather riding boots..suggestions?? - cheval

Pat did a great job of describing the Whiskeytown Ride this weekend. (By the way it was a pleasure meeting her and Leighsa, Pat has some really funny horse stories!) We were the riders who took the mismarked trail loop which climbed the Kanaka Peak. Realized that we were off course when we saw a pie plate that said "You are not to the top yet". OH NO!!...hike back down leading the horses.
Needless to say, we also got thoroughly wet. My rainsuit did a pretty good job of keeping most of my body dry but my riding shoes were water buckets. I'd love to get some advice from anyone who has found a good WATERPROOF riding shoe/boot that can fit in a stirrup and also provide arch and ankle support for those hill hikes.
Thanks! Bianca
P.S. Ride management and vets at Whiskeytown were the nicest people! I would definitely go again to support their hard work and great attitude.
