[RC] loose horse - me too! - Laura Hayes

After Becky admitted her horse was loose last week, I'll tell my quick
story - sort of like AA...."I am a horseahaloic and I allowed one to get
loose once...."

At Leatherwood, I had a stall for my mare. A STALL- now that should be
safe! Only thing is, I have never had her in a stall-how was I to know she
hated them? Come to find out, she really HATES them. I was checking on her
Friday morning after getting in after dark on Thursday. I leaned across the
open doorway to look in her water bucket, and she bolted out the door
running me over and ran out to camp like a wild woman. Nina happened to have
a can of feed in her hand, so the catching part was easy.

I had bruises on both arms and my ankle. I ended up trading my inside
enclosed stall for one on the outside of the barn that was more open and
airy, and she tolerated it. Hey, it can happen to anyone.
