[RC] UT Vets Worming Schedule - LRN8554

We just had a seminar done by Univ. of TN. vets in our area last week and
their recommendations were to worm Sept., Dec. (and this one has to be with
Ivermectin to get rid of the bots), March and May. You can use any of the
other products out there, such as the Benzimidazoles, etc. in any of the
months EXCEPT the one after the first frost which needs to be a product with
Ivermectin. No summer worming because it's too hot here in southeast Tn. for
them to live in the manure in the summer months. Double dose once a year
with pyrantel paste for tapes and this is what I found interesting. He said
if you want to use the double dose of pyrantel paste as a regular part of
your worming schedule follow it up in 30 days with one of the other products
because it is only good for 30 days where as the Ivermectrin products work
for 60 days and the Quest product for 90. Linda
