Fecal checks do not work for tapes or encysted small strongyles.

Subject: [RC] Worming For Tapes, etc.--Is It necessary?

Is it really necessaray to worm all horses for tapeworms and encysted small strongyles?   Or is that only necessary if the horse isn't thriving (gaining weight)?

Also, can a fecal test determine if a horse indeed DOES have either of the two above mentioned conditions?  (Tapeworms don't show up in fecals on dogs or cats.)
