[RC] trai rite/collection - Ed Kilpatrick

amy,  when you say this particular horse cant wear a bit because of a jaw issue, what do you mean?   you also used the word brat in describing her and said you got a broken eye socket from her flinging her head back?  then you have some basic control problems with this horse. martingales, etc. is not the first thing you need to do.  you need to go back to some basic ground work excercises and riding excercises in the arena or round pen and get this horse to soften up her neck and body so that you can gain control of her head.  as for not tolerating a bit,  i had a horse that i though couldnt wear a bit, turns out i was just letting him get away with making a decision that was not in his job description!  i am working him in a plain dee ring snaffle bit now, and those head issues are solved.     ed
