[RC] Know It All... - Tamara Alice Taylor

Sheesh! Some people have nothing better to do with their time!

Do you guys have a dog? If not, I would recommend getting one - a big one. There was recently a discussion of which breeds are good for guarding horses. I myself am a dog lover and a big, friendly slobberpuss dog may be enough to deter potential tresspassers. Put a 'beware of dog' sign up so people will think it is ferocious even though it is probably a sucky baby with a bark worse than its bite.

Geese are also good deterants. They are territorial and not much fun to deal with when they are flapping/chasing/nipping at you. We also had a 'guard goat' at one time that would butt people or jump on their vehicles when they came into the yard.

I suppose taking interest in her horse and having the oppurtunity to explain your situation would help too. Perhaps you could let her know that overfeeding is a form of cruelty as well and would she kindly refrain from feeding your chubby horses.

Hopefully your nosey neighbour learns to keep out of your business soon.

Tam
