Dale Myler of Myler bits said that (after youcheck for dental problems )
is one of the signs of a bit not being right for your horse. He gave us a 
lot of info, and even though I took 30 pages of notes at the convention , I 
am not a bit expert.He does however have a book on "bitting" I saw it on 
ebay the other day. I think it goes for about 10-15$. Laurie and Rascal
