Re: [RC] the great american horse race - Merryben

I have been meaning to put some pics of the old fool up but sometimes he looks
so skinny I hesitate to do so. He is real shiny when he sheds out but bony.
He has a big huge paddock with a hill and trees he stands under and a shelter.
I free feed him alf/oat hay chopped with molasses added, about 9 to 12 lbs of
Eq Senior or however much he is in the mood to eat and he gets regular hay too.
I sometimes let him out to eat the grass if I am going to be around but he
gets pretty snotty and won't let me catch him if he thinks he has to go back.
He would prefer to live in the pasture with the other horses but he just can't
maintin any weight that way. The other day he actually cantered up the
driveway and even gave out a mule buck or two......mb
