Mares in Foal
For what it's worth, all of our babies are born on either the 20 acre or 80
acre pasture. Sometimes they are born with the herd (9), sometimes they are
separated with another horse; it depends on the mother's hierarchy in the
herd. All of our fence is smooth wire. We have lots of woods. I would not
have a problem with foaling with the stallion under certain situations.
The main concern is that the mother remain calm and content wherever that
may be, and none of ours is happy in a confined area or alone!
Louise,
anxiously awaiting two straight Russian babies in April!
