    I've had two vets (one local, one a ride vet) tell me that round bales are a significant risk factor for botulism.  My own vet told me that I didn't need to worry about vaccinating for botulism unless my boarded gelding was eating from round bales.  He wasn't then, but he is now (during the winter), and so now I vaccinate for botulism.
