Re: RC: SERA Convention

Geeze, beat me to the punch again:-). The scale is on order and we will have
it available to SE ride managers for use by the riders. We will have some
rides where weighing will be part of the vet check so we can get good data on
all horses in the ride.

It may be that the human ultra marathoners are way ahead of us in that they
use percentage weight loss is a prime criteria for runners going on.
Hopefully we will learn quite a bit from this.

Also passed this morning at the board meeting was an expansion of the prizes
to include top five LD (based on mileage points) instead of just the top LD.
We are also instituting first place in each weight division in the endurance
division.

We also added a "fun ride" to the Hungry Buzzard so that people that want to
come out and try endurance can do it.

The final thing was I discovered not too long ago that Virginia is part SERA.
We somehow forgot this but no longer? For RM's in VA this means you can
sanction you rides with SERA and take advantage of our insurance and also
provide additional rides for SERA members. I invite any riders or RM from
Virginia to contact me for additional information.
