If I've made any endurance rider feel bad about their sport, because of my posts, for that, I do apologize.  My only excuse is I am very concerned about the direction our sport is headed

Passion isn't really passion unless it is acted upon...voicing an "opinion" seems to be the first step in evincing it.
That you have passion about horses and their well-being ( while being enjoyed as the gifts they really are) is a great thing.
Few of us can always articulate what we really mean...I think I know what you really mean to say and there ain't nuthin' wrong wid dat.
We must remember that when we spend most of our lives in small boats, even small waves can undo us...and if we look around, we will see the faces of others, complete strangers struggling against the very same waves in their tiny boats.
Just because a small boat might capsize, it doesn't mean it will.
The endurance world is not as big and varied as it can sometimes seem...it is as simple as riding a horse a given distance and trying to fend off all the bad things lurking behind distance-induced ego-gluttony.
In the 'whine' there is truth, somewhere.
         ...en vino, es veritas.
