Re: [RC] Whiners and Winners - Howard Bramhall

OK, well that's enough to shut me up (for awhile).  To get my hero, Debi Foti, to come out of that endurance closet long enough to make a post compels me to write some sort of apology letter as far as me being a whiner (certainly, not a winner) goes.  I'll be brief, and then I will shut up, even if someone on here decides to call me a bigot again (I hate it when I get caught up in that trap).

First of all, my timing was not good with my Sultan's post.  It never is; it's a controversial subject and I guess some could take it as whining or making excuses for a group of riders I really have no right to even comment upon.  So, for all that I do apologize.

If I've made any endurance rider feel bad about their sport, because of my posts, for that, I do apologize.  My only excuse is I am very concerned about the direction our sport is headed in, and like it or not, the top riders Internationally set the pace for our rides all over the world.

If I've taken anything away from the superior coverage done by John T & Steph on the WEG, for that, I do apologize.  That was never my intention.

For offending anyone who is really interested in endurance riding at any level, for that, I do apologize.  Like I said, my timing was off here (gee, what else is new?).

Please, understand, my views are my own and have nothing whatsoever to do with speaking for any group or organization.  Most organizations don't even want me as a member; I fly solo.  Plus, ya'll know I'm way out there in left field, and I forgot to bring a glove.  So, if it looks like I'm running around in circles and can't really catch anything, maybe, someone can throw me a mitt.

Anyway, all I can say is try reading that post a month or so from now, and, it might make a little more sense.  Or, just delete it.  I do apologize for my poor timing because the last thing I want is to be considered a poor sport in one I care about so dearly.  Believe me, this is one sport where I've learned what it's like not to be a winner.  Mr. Potato would label me an "Incomplete Loser" as far as endurance goes.

    cya,
Howard (who should be training like Debbi Foti does; out at 4 AM and back home 16 hours later.  To ride is to live, to live is to ride.)

I am posting as a guest simply because I have not enough hours in the day to go onto a computer daily much less weekly at some times. I have followed the WEC with great interest and am grateful for Steph and John to go above and beyond in keeping everyone informed. I was compelled to post after reading the Winners and Whiners from Linda Salas, just one thing comes to mind "You go girl"! From Deborah Foti beekeeper@xxxxxxxxxxxx
