[RC] horse size vs. lameness - Michelle Fink

    Hi Susan -

I re-read the two Tevis studies posted on your site and it left me wondering
if there was similar data calculated by breed. Is there similar
distribution of breeds in the "sound" population and the "lame" population?
Meaning the proportion of sound Arabs is equal to lame Arabs, or did there
end up being a larger # of other breeds in the lame category? Somewhere I
read about certain breeds of horses (including Arabs) having a larger and
more shock absorbing digital cushion, so I wonder if intrinsic breed
characteristics favor big Arabs over other breeds comparably sized.

    Happy trails -
    Michelle
