[RC] saddles and saddle pads - Ridecamp Guest

    ridge runner rafrnhm@xxxxxxx
I have completed one 25m finishing well, in a stuben jump
saddle. I now would like to pursue a 50m but am concerned
about the pressure a jump saddle places on the tenderloins
of the horse's back. I ride with a short stirrup, either post
or two point unless at a walk, making all efforts to remain
balanced over the horse. I have two questions:
      1. Is there a preferred saddle pad that will provide good protection for this area of the horse's back but will also
fit a saddle with forward leg panels.
      2. What kind of mileage and how long should I expect to
need to prepare for a 50m on a horse that is currently doing
9 miles at 5 and a half minute pace?

I appreciate your comments and shared experiences
