    The problem is, it is NOT a gray area -- just like you can't be a
    "little bit pregnant."  Either you started, or you didn't.  If you

    I don't know about that, but it's irrelevant.  The question has now
    come out, and needs resolution.  I don't know Karen and I like and
    admire Dave Nicholson, but that doesn't change the issue.

    Whether someone started a ride or not is hardly a little thing.  It
    goes to the heart of the integrity of the sport and its records.

    The fact that our records are not perfect is no reason to accept not
    reporting early pulls as starters.  You may regard that as minor, I do
    not.
