Re: Fwd: [RC] Survey on best footwear for endurance - Kristene Smuts

I recently purchased a pair of Blundstones from Australia. They have outlets in the USA and one of the websites is http://www.blundstoneusa.com/ Do a search on the web for "blundstone" and you'll find lots of sites.

There are lots of different styles so depending on your personal preference, you'll no doubt find a pair that will suit you. The reason I like them is that they are totally waterproof, have a good tread on the sole, and the style I got have steel toe caps. They're comfortable to jog with and the added bonus for me is that I tend to ride with my foot to the outside of the stirrup and I've had to glue sponge to the stirrup iron so that my little toes don't protest too much, but with these shoes, I don't have to do it anymore. Because they're molded, they're thicker on the outside ridge, which takes the place of the sponge.

They were pretty expensive in our terms, because of the exchange rate, but a friend of mine has been wearing hers for 6 years (worn every day and they look as if they will go for another 6 years) without any problems, so if you calculate what you'd normally spend on shoes every year, I think they were a great buy.
