 The only places you have to really worry about selenium toxicities are 
areas (few and far between) where there are high amounts in the soil or a lot of 
selenium-accumulating plants, unless you happen to get hold of a supplement that 
was formulated by an idiot.  The only thing that needs to be watched is if 
you start piggybacking supplements (which shouldn't be an issue for ridecampers, 
since you folks are pretty savvy about your nutrition, and are smart enough to 
ask when you don't know).  As a nutritionist, I'm more concerned about 
horse owners who have no clue about nutrition oversupplementing selenium.  
To me, excess iron is more of an issue (around here at least) than 
selenium.
