If your point is that a person could have a head injury at any time while 
riding, then I think you made your point.  If your point is that everyone 
should wear helmets because they could have a head injury at any time, then 
I don't think you made that one as well.

Life is about understanding the risks and going on anyway.  Sometimes you 
wear the helmet and you break your back instead.  The only person I've 
known personally who died as a direct result of a horse injury might have 
lived if she'd been wearing a safety vest.  Do I wear a safety vest?  No.

MY point is that each person should decide what is the most risky thing for 
him/her and takes steps to protect him/herself from that risk.  Myself, I 
watch where I'm walking when I'm on the ground (rattlesnakes) and don't go 
riding in thunderstorms.
