Life is about understanding the risks and going on anyway.
Sometimes you
wear the helmet and you break your back instead.  The only
person I've
known personally who died as a direct result of a horse
injury might have
lived if she'd been wearing a safety vest.  Do I wear a
safety vest?  No.

MY point is that each person should decide what is the most
risky thing for
him/her and takes steps to protect him/herself from that
risk.  Myself, I
watch where I'm walking when I'm on the ground
(rattlesnakes) and don't go
riding in thunderstorms.
