Re: [RC] Helmets - Barbara McCrary

Well, I'm enjoying life to the fullest, so I don't want to shorten it any
    more than necessary.
No, I'm not a smoking Nazi, and if you read carefully anything I wrote, you
will realize that I am a strong supporter of people being responsible for
their own lives. That's why I DON'T require riders in our event to wear
helmets. I DO, however, think it's wise to wear a helmet anytime someone
gets on a horse, or motorcycle, or bicycle. Wherever did you get the idea I
was attacking anyone about anything? I don't attack people, and I don't
tell them how to live their lives, except in the incident of my husband
being injured in a horse-related fall. I think a wife has some right to ask
her husband to protect himself. He asks I do the same for his sake. I
think you have misinterpreted my message; I'm not telling anyone to do
anything, but I'm sharing experiences so that some may think there's some
    wisdom in them.
No, I'm not overweight, either. I'm 69 years old and can still "wrestle my
weight in wildcats". I can spend all day riding, hiking, cutting firewood,
clearing brush, or building barbed wire fences. Anything else you would
like to know about me? (Beside the fact that I bake a mean pie.)

    Barbara McCrary
