    Since we don't get our ride insurance from AERC and since Ride Managers pick the insurance carriers for their rides, why should AERC have any say about the helmets anyway?

    No one addresses the whole issue: Where does it stop? What is this magic thing about helmets anyway? Are there *really* so many more insurance/medical claims and/or deaths from endurance riding head injuries than any other endurance riding injury or is it just that the helmet issue is an easy one to address?
