When I was doing the original wax for the bronze, I went through many 'this
won't work' phases.
What it finally came down to was a process of elimination. Firstly, I
couldn't put a rider on the horse's back because if I were to put a woman,
then surely a man would win it. So no rider. Then I had to make the horse
sexless, because if I made the horse a gelding, then surely a stallion or
mare would win it. Then I thought, well since at least ninety percent of
horses in the Endurance sport are Arabs, surely, I would be safe in making
him/her and Arab.
But never in the process did it occur to me that the winner of the fifty mile
BC would not even be a horse! <g>
I too was cheering for you and Rudy as you crossed the finish line so
proudly. Not just because you two are so unique, but because Rudy looked so
darn good. Even at the BC judging, he looked as though he hadn't done a thing
all day.
Congratulations to you both for a job well done. And I hope the bronze at
least projects the spirit of the win that you two so deserve.
