Executive Director Of United States Equestrian Team
Announces Fund Raising Effort For Disaster Relief

Gladstone Antiques Show To Donate Funds From Silent Auction

Gladstone, NJ-September 17, 2001-Robert C. Standish, Executive Director of
the United States Equestrian Team (USET) announced, "On behalf of the USET
staff, Olympic riders and the members of the Gladstone Antiques Show
Committee, I want to express our profound sympathy to the families of the
victims of last Tuesday's tragedy, many of whom are residents of our local
area and have been personally touched by these devastating events.
"After thoughtful consideration, we have decided to proceed with our annual
benefit, the Gladstone Antiques Show, September 22-23, and to use it as an
opportunity to raise funds for disaster relief.
We are deeply appreciative to each of the fifty antiques dealers who wish to
show their support for the rescue efforts by donating an antique towards a
silent auction at the show. All proceeds from this sale will go directly to
the American Red Cross Disaster Fund."
The USET is a non-profit organization that selects, trains, equips and
finances equestrians of the highest possible standard to represent our
country in major international competition, including the Olympic Games and
World Championships. To accomplish this the USET seeks out and nurtures the
development of talented athletes- riders, drivers and horses-and provides
the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest
potential. For more information on the USET, please visit www.uset.org or
call (908) 234-1251.
