Re: moth infected grain?



It's not unusual to find those little grain moths in grain.  In and of
themselves, the moths and larvae won't do the horse any harm.  However, it
can be an indication that the grain itself is getting a bit elderly, and
that in turn is an indication of loss of vitamin content, primarily the fat
soluble and heat labile vitamins such as vitamins A & E.  When I open a bag
of grain and find bugs, I generally return and let them know why.  If I
continued to find the same problem, I would probably change my source.
