Re: Re: blood work reference norms

Erica DeVoti ponyexpress@frontier.net
Does anyone know where I may find normal ranges on blood work lab
findings?  I have found descriptive info on Susan G.'s site regarding what
is tested and what it means if the results are high or low, but I am at a
loss at finding numbers in the "normal" range to compare my horses results
to.  Please email me if you can point me in the right direction.  Thanks.

Erica, on the same page with your chem panel results, it should also list the "normal" reference ranges.  The few that might be would be the i-Stat results that gave pH, BE, lactates, and a few things like that.  Those I (think) are explained in the CBC handout you got---but if it doesn't let me know and I'll post normals for you and add that to the websited article as well.

Also let me know if there are just some results you don't understand, even after reading the handout.  I know it can be pretty confusing. :-)
