helmets
Ahh, something I don't mind responding to..helmets. Also, I LOVED the
one liner about the hair do and the brains. Bravo! I always wear a
helmet . I recently wrote an article that went into our Kansas City Fox
Trotters Club newsletter about helmets and it got a lot of attention.
Out of around 100 members, one me and one other woman were helmets on
trail rides. I get lots of looks and strange comments, but I can deal
with it and not let it bother me. Since transcribing Emergency
Department reports is what I do for a living - YEP, I wear a helmet.
Head injuries are horrible and most horse related could have been
prevented with a helmet. Last summer in my area a horse flipped over on
a woman and crushed her craninum. I have always wondered if a helmet
could have saved her. Although, some people take the stance "if my
number is up then it just is." Guess I have to appreciate that, too.
But, I will still wear a helmet and pray my number is not up for a long
time. Terri
