Hill practice without the hills.

Now I know the answer.  We have no hills in southern AZ but lots and lots of 
sand.  Never saw more than a molehill before taking my horse to his first 
ride - a 50. It was in the mountains and he did GREAT!  As a matter of fact, 
the hilly rides have always been the one where he has done the best.
