Re: RC:Girth tightness
While I wouldn't go that far, I do use a breast collar and crouper and think
them to be required equipment even in the flat Midwest. I was almost
trampled by a panicked horse one time. It turned out that when the rider
had started to remount his saddle slipped under the horse and off the horse
went. When the horse was captured a few miles later, the saddle was junk
and the horse was out for the day with banged up legs. If the saddle had
been rigged with crouper and breast plate it would not have been able to get
underneath the horse.
