Heidi is correct. Exercise conditioning will cause muscle cells to become
increasingly oxidative. Dramatic body temp rises come from FT cells--repeated
uphill gallops demonstrate that effect very well--heartrate recovers while
resp. rate remains elevated. As FT cells are converted to FTH they run cooler.
Some FTH cells can become almost wholly oxidative--like ST cells, and they run
cooler yet.
