Eating on a ride

It's really the same for humans as it is for horses. If you need to eat
during a race, you better eat during conditioning. How many people who
"can't" eat during a race practice eating while conditioning?

Personally, any opportunity to justify more eating is an opportunity I
will seize! I *used* to have eating-during-race problems, but once I
realized I just had to eat all the time while riding, that problem went
away.

OK, so this post is (a little bit) tongue in cheek, but it's basically
true. Eat when conditioning - never (hardly ever) do something
different on a race that you haven't trained yourself or your horse
for. Basic endurance common sense. Lif
