Re: Trade Show Donation?

On top of that, how about also using this opportunity to educate AERC
members, non-members and visitors to the trade show about trail
preservation? Even folks without horses can learn that trail preservation
is a GOOD thing. As hard as it may be for some to believe, preservation
isn't as big a presence in the minds of everyone in ALL parts of the
country. It may be difficult for people from areas which are constantly
challenged by trail concerns to realize that there are *perceptively* less
threatened areas of the country. In areas where there is less threat, there
is less concern, less education, less knowledge. Since anyone who has been
directly involved in a trail preservation battle knows, it is can be a
shocking experience to suddenly learn that a treasured trail is in danger of
being closed to horses; or closed, period. How about AERC offer some
educational material regarding trail preservation, even if it's just a
simple flyer? Use the opportunity to educate visitors from around the
country, endurance people or not, that this is a real concern and it's only
a matter of time before it affects them too. Educate them as to the
importance of this issue AND to just what a difference their generous
"donation" can make.
