Carbs and tying up

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your reply. I still have some of your product that you
kindly mailed me a few years ago. I have not been a good test subject
because I used the stuff too randomly. However I can do a little test this
Tuesday. The reason I say little is that my horse is not in training now; he
has been laid off for over 2 months. I was planning on riding him for the
first time on Tues. I feed alf and oat (no grain cause no exercise) and
yesterday took him off the alf in prep for the Tues ride. What I have done
with him after a layoff is to take him off alf and grain, if used, for 3 or 4
days prior to resuming exercise and that has worked. The reason I do that is
that a local vet told me that alf is implicated in tying up and that she has
had sucess in taking tie up horses completely off alf. Anyway I will put him
back on the alf and try the carb on Monday night. When I get him in shape,
prob by mid-Jan, I will try the carbs again.
