A very interesting thing is that here where we have four or five packs of
truly wild feral dogs whose territories we ride through, we actually get
very little horse chasing. I've been rushed a couple of times by a lone
female when I was on track to her den inadvertently. When I changed course,
she left off.  And in the spring a few of the young ones will come out like
tough guys, but turn the horse towards them (don't even have to chase) and
growl back, and that's that.  I think the domestic dogs must be dumber or
meaner.
