Julie, I'm cc'ing Larry Suddjian. He has the exact info on distances.

There are two options for Fun Riders this year (as in the previous
years.) There is a "short" ride option: an out and back between the
Foresthill start and Michigan Bluff. Less than 15 miles total, I
believe. Very pretty ride, mostly single track; some switchbacks.
Crosses Volcano creek, somewhat rocky, but quite safe. Set your own
pace; plenty of time to finish, even if you get a late start.

Main option: Foresthill to White Oak Flat via the California Street
Trail to Francisco's. This one is, I would guess, about 25 miles, maybe
a tad more. It covers about half of the trail that most Tevis riders
would cover at nightfall or after. If you have not done the Tevis and
would like to see it first in daylight, here's a good opportunity. The
wildflowers will be out in force by then, especially down near the river
toward Rucky Chucky. There is an overview map of the trail at,

There's a bit of trailer logistics involved on this second option. You
need to sign in, and drop your horse(s) and tack off at, the Foresthill
Mill Site and then drive your rig over to White Oak Flat (about 5 miles
away.) There is a shuttle back to Foresthill provided for rig drivers.
When you come off the trail at White Oak, you load up and trailer back
to the Mill Site for the afternoon Bar B Que.

There's no shotgun start on either ride route. You can take it easy if
you like or you can cruise on through at a fair clip. There are no
vetchecks enroute, although there is a vet on call if one is needed.
