Phil and Bliss

Phil,

In my experience and I'm probably not as experienced as most of you, but my
own horse was a front runner and I tried everything. I now ride him in a
copper roller bit with a figure 8 noseband.

I found everything mad it worse and by the end he would be a mess and I
could not get him to settle, his heart rate would be off the scales and he
would seem like a mental case. Most people thought I was crazy riding him.
I would have to get my back put in by the Chiro afterwards. Eventually I
gave in and became a front runner, Sam settled and we got our heart rates
down, I didn't visit the Chiro any more and riding is good.
I just had to accept it, maybe you might have to.

Sam is 21 this year and has been like that for 13 years. We have a
wonderful partnership and I have to say he is still the same and sometimes
it drives me nuts, but I wouldn't trust any other horse like I do him.

Sorry I can't help much, but I thought it might ease the pain if you knew
that there are others of us out there.
