Re: NATRC Shoe Rules Lifted

Roger,

Thanks for your efforts in getting the shoeing and electrolytes rules
changed.

I'll tell ya what though--my horse still won't be competing in NATRC. Since
her sesamoid injury has healed, I'm fairly paranoid about her reinjuring
that spot for the 3rd time, so protective boots are a must. I don't think
she's traveling incorrectly, but I'm not going to risk her future because
NATRC doesn't permit protective boots. It's too bad, because it would be a
good form of rehab.

And certainly the "leveling the field" concept shouldn't be valid when the
cost of these boots is so low.

Another rule that prevents us from competing is the requirement that all
horses stand tied to the trailer overnight unless corrals are available for
all.

NATRC is the only option in PS if one wants to do CTR. Maybe some locals
have ideas about how things are going there, like Lynn Kinsky? (in private
would be great). It's funny--my horse doesn't need 'lytes or pads, but I
understand how necessary this is for many others. We all have our own
situations to manage.
