First, count your blessings that you ever had a hunting season only 2
weeks long, and be grateful that even with the extension, it will be over
at the end of December.  Down here, deer season is first of October to
last day of January, and dove season and turkey season (both quite active)
go on the front and back of those two. :(  Besides, you don't need to ride
all winter long if you don't have a competition until April! lol

There was a pretty good discussion of road riding on this list quite
recently, which I'm sure you can find in the Ridecamp archives.  I used
one of the tips quite successfully (using the "slow down" signal to cars
approaching me).  I have to do quite a bit of riding alongside paved
roads, and don't like it, but have learned to live with it.
