I was really surprised how many responses I got so quickly.  Thanks to
everyone!  I will print out all the responses for my sister.  I don't know
why I didn't think about palpation, duh!!  Seems everybody around here
"ultrasounds"....the "in" thing, I guess and that is just what sprang to my
mind.  I am pretty good at palpating rabbits but I guess I'll have to find
somebody else for the horse!  :)  haha  So everybody doesn't think we are
too ditzy, she was bred to OUR stallion, that is why we didn't worry too
much about the ifs and whatnots.  We'll just do it again if the spring if
she didn't take. (Our breeding contract stipulates that owners need to do
an ultrasound within 30 days to check for pregnancy in case we need to
breed back right away).  It has been very strange how she will seem to be
in heat constantly for awhile and then she's fine the rest of the
time...the heat always seems to come about when she is in proximity to our
stud.  So...I'll shop around for someone I trust to palpate her...it'll be
interesting to see what he says!!  hmmmm.....
