On flat fast courses the issue of stride lenght vs. stride frequency probably starts to play a roll. The longer the stride the more advantage on this type of course. All other things being equal, the taller the horse the longer the stride. I would not be at all surprised that if the championship rides migrate to flat, fast courses you will start seeing taller horses being used.
