Based on the low completion rate in the 25 mile ride, it does seem like this
was not the sort of ride you could just pull a horse out of pasture for.
Does that seem right to you?  I guess my concern with the recent posts on
LD's is that, while I agree that they are not endurance rides per se,
sometimes they do require a fair amount of conditioning in order to safely
negotiate them.  In other words, all LD's are not created equal in degree of
difficulty and riders need to research their rides and their preparation.
Anyway, you were there, what do you think?
