Dear Peggy et al;
We have some deer here, but they aren't really a problem to me as we
have dogs which keep them away from my garden.
However, I have heard horror stories about a place around Monterey and
Carmel that had a city ordinance so that no one could hurt the deer,
they are protected.  Someone apparently thought they were soooo cute! 
Now they run wild through town, eating whatever they want, pesky as
heck.  The place is overrun with them.  A few are cute, too many in a
city is not.
