Hi, Susan,
I'm interested in this too.  I had planned to use my stock trailer at least
to keep Fox out of rain since he hates it so much, but I've always worried
that, if they lie down, they could get cast and then tear themselves and
your trailer up in their panic.  In NATRC, they require you to tie and, for
the most part, that does seem to work well, but I feel like I remember
hearing about problems with loose horses at NATRC rides too.  (not sure, not
at any ride I went to).
