World Ranking System for FEI Endurance

I recently received the following news-to-me from a friend with contacts in
Dubai....Does anyone have further information?

"        The World Ranking System is something that the Emirates have set up
through the FEI that ranks riders as well as horses all over the world.  All
federations have information on this, and for some reason, all of them are
being really slack informing members of the system.  
        In a nutshell, for every FEI (only) ride you enter and finish, you
receive a certain number of points depending on: if it is Cat. A or B, how
long the ride is, how many people enter/finish, and of course where you
finish.  The point collection starts in Oct. 99 and finishes in Oct.00.
Riders with the highest points receive a cash award at the end of the year,
so does the best horse, best purebred horse, best stallion, even an award
for the breeder of the best horse (don't ask me how they will go back and
find that).  I would suggest writing to AERC and ask them to send you info
on the World Ranking System sponsored by the Emirates and see what they say.
They of course have a lot of work to do, they must enter the results of
these rides to the Emirates within a week of it taking place.  (Any FEI
ride, or it doesn't count.)  So if ride organizers aren't aware of it, the
secretary might not take care of it. "
