Nina you need a few more "many's" in there (sorry couldn't resist). 

I have almost 2000 miles on a walking horse. We'll finish that up this
season. I have finished the ROC on a walking horse.  I've won BC on a
walking horse.
I have shown up at rides in regions where no one had ever seen my
walking horse before.  Know what, I have never felt that I was treated
unfairly because the
vets didn't know the difference between a gaited horse and a trotting
horse. 

The SE is gaited horse country and most vets here see gaited horses -
maybe not as much as they see non gaited horses - but enough to know if
they are lame.
