Just a note...

A friend of mine works for an engineering firm in New Hampshire.
Several years ago (my recollection is about 1996) they were contacted
by Slypner with the idea of doing a total redesign of the Slypner
shoe.  I have some dim recollection that the company had sold and
the new owners were facing up to the original design's weaknesses.

I don't know if this redesign ever occurred and made it into production.

But it might be that what was true of a 1995 Slypner shoe might not
be true of current models.
