Re: next ride season...I hope!

Hi Jenni,

I am also working with my green horse and hoping to start doing some rides
this spring. Before our first trail rides, my trainer (who specializes in
preparing the horse and rider for CTR and endurance) has me taking her on
long hikes. That way we are both getting some conditioning (much needed in
my case) and she can get over her spooks, etc with me safe on the ground.
This has really helped her to "grow up" mentally and emotionally. It also
helps my confidence. Once we take our first trail ride I wont be nervous
and tense and sort of constantly wondering what she might spook about.

Hope this helps,

right!) so we can go on our 1st trail ride this weekend! Keep your fingers
crossed for me! I am going to go buy a helmet just for this occassion
(thanks to all the Ridecamp posts...better to be safe than sorry!).

horse around to help? I know to take it slow and be patient. I do not have
anyone close to go with me, and I don't have a trailer yet...any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. You may email me privately so as not to crowd
the list!
