Re: Strongid C

Years ago when Strongid C first came out, some of the "hot shoes" decided to
try it out. The premis was great. The worms didnt have a chance to invade
the horse at all. Well......They soon found that their horses performance
level bottomed out. Not only were they not winning, they were being pulled
for metabolic problems and their horses just not having the energy to give
what was being asked of them. Im sorry that I cannot remember who the
riders and horses were. There was actually an article on the results
somewhere. That is where I heard about it. Just think about it......you
are putting poisons into your horse everday. Who knows where the stuff is
accumilating. Worming every two months is bad enough. At least the horse
has a little time to try to rid his body of the toxins produced/introduced
by the wormers. Parasites are a natural part of the horse. In small
amounts, a healthy horse can fight them off, thus, building his immune
system. Over infestation is what we need to worry about. It is much better
if you just have your horse on a good vit/mineral supplement , good food and
fresh water and rotate your pastures if ya got some. Have a fecal exam done
every so often to find out if your horse in fact may have a problem he needs
to be rid of . Parasites cannot survive well in a healthy animal. O.k.
there is my 2 cents worth....fire up the blow torches and have at it.<g>
