Re: RC: Egyptian Arabians in the Wall Street Journal

FWIW ( probably not a lot)

I used to visit a really nice Lady who had an Egyptian import Marawan who
she had bought to upgrade her crabbet mares here in the Uk. He threw some
very nice horses but they all had real weight problems - I assume from a
genetic dispostion to process little food very well! ONe of his sons is a
very good endurance horse over here.

Marawan was a pretty horse with a lot of bone very much like photos of fadl
- but what a bastard temprement wise. According to his owner in Egypt if a
stallion kicks out and maims a groom , well hey theres loads of boys on the
street looking for work. Dont bother to discipline the horse, just get
another groom.

He used to come out of his stable roaring like a lion so maybe thats what
the Egyptian person meant? His stock were all ( going of the ones I meet
including his entire sons) really sweet natured. So maybe the egyptian
persons mistaking the effects of nerture for nature?
